To start on the right foot, consider this: a Gallup study revealed that companies with engaged employees experience 21% higher profitability than those without engaged employees. Imagine if you could quantify ‘fit’ through shared values…
Personally, I believe that when done right, value-led organizations have the upper hand over those operating without them.
In fact, research indicates that companies with strong cultures see an 4x increase in revenue growth, illustrating the direct financial benefits of investing in a positive workplace environment. We’ve also seen that strong values show to significantly aid in recruiting and retaining talent, by attracting candidates with aligned values, you can yield clear returns on recruitment investments and retain employees far longer.
Notice I said, ‘when done right’? That’s because surface-level values that aren’t embedded into company culture and operations can be spotted a mile off.
Company values should be deeply rooted in a business and can be used for decision-making, recruiting, and advancing employees through the company.
If your mission and values aren’t clear, this is a red flag to applicants. If they find evidence that those values aren’t being lived, your recruitment challenges may increase significantly.
For us, our values look like this:
Attracting and retaining top talent isn’t just about offering a competitive salary or a great benefits package, it’s about building a company culture that employees genuinely want to be a part of.
Take the time to reflect: Do your company values guide your hiring, culture, and leadership decisions? If not, it might be time for a refresh.
Until next time, you know where we are if you need us.
