Often likened to second-hand car salesmen, you might not have ever considered a career in recruitment. But you should, because although it requires resilience and determination, it can be incredibly rewarding, from both a professional and financial perspective. On top of that, it helps if you are employed by a business that will really look after you.
In a trend that has continued since our inception in 2013, 2019 has been a fast-paced year at The Sterling Choice, and as we look ahead to 2020, there are no plans to slow down.
There are exciting strategies in place to continue to expand the business, including moving to a new office. To support this growth, we are looking for more talented individuals working in the business, alongside our incredible established team.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, we don’t always look to employ people that have come from a recruitment background. Some of our top performing employees have joined us from careers in telesales, real estate and hospitality.
In fact, Joe Wickison, who was recently promoted to Senior Recruitment Consultant, joined us in 2015 as an apprentice, from a role as a bartender.
We are looking for highly-motivated individuals that strive to continually learn and expand their experience and skill-set. We believe in supporting our employees and have developed a comprehensive induction programme that lasts for six months. All employees have access to a recruitment ‘bible’ that we have invested heavily in.
Weekly one-to-one meetings are scheduled with all staff to ensure they feel confident, motivated and content in their roles.
We believe that we have created an environment that is aligned with our ethos of ‘work hard/play hard’. State-of-the-art technology not only makes our consultants more comfortable, but also enables and empowers them in their roles.
Our contemporary breakout area features a built-in bar that serves as a hub for the team after a busy week, and a foosball table to take the competitive nature of the team to the next level.
A strong team culture is part of the fabric of our business. We spend more than 40 hours a week together, so it’s a real bonus to have built a team that actually enjoys spending time together.
We insist on regular team events, some of the venues that we have entertained our team at this year, includes the Duck and Waffle and German Gymnasium.
We are passionate about recognising and rewarding great work, regularly taking employees out for lunch and offering incentives such as all-expenses paid trips to destinations such as Las Vegas.
As well as an industry-leading base salary, we also offer our employees an impressive benefits package.
