ER Advisor – Food Manufacturing (Site Based) – Barnsley – £32,000 to £35,000

This isn’t one of those jobs where you’ll sit behind a desk all day, firing off templated emails and quoting policies like they’re scripture. This is a proper ER role—hands-on, people-first, and right in the thick of it at a busy food manufacturing site near Barnsley.

Here’s the deal:

• You’ll work closely with managers who know how to make things, but maybe not always how to handle people. That’s where you come in—coaching, guiding, and sometimes just getting stuck into the messy stuff.
• You’ll be the go-to for disciplinary hearings, grievances, absence management, and the odd tricky conversation no one else wants to have.
• The workforce is big, and it’s fast-paced. This means no two days will be the same. Ever.

Now, let’s talk about you.

• You’ve done this before—ER, HR, whatever you want to call it. You’ve got experience dealing with the kind of issues that pop up when you’ve got hundreds of people working together under one roof.
• You know your employment law, but more importantly, you know how to apply it with a bit of common sense.
• You’re not afraid of a challenge, and you can hold your own when things get tense. You’re a problem-solver, not a box-ticker. And you’re someone who actually listens, instead of just waiting for their turn to speak.

The job pays £32,000 – £35,000, depending on how much experience you bring to the table. It’s site-based, so no hiding behind Zoom calls. You’ll be part of a solid HR team that gets it and values what you do, and a big business that values and develops their people.
