A food manufacturing business based in South Manchester is looking for a sharp Purchasing Assistant to join their team. This person will be the right hand to the Procurement Manager, ensuring the best ingredients and packaging are sorted for the company’s products.

What’s the job?

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for:

• Buying stuff: Assisting with the procurement of ingredients and packaging, ensuring they’re delivered on time and at the right price.
• Utilizing Excel skills to manage inventory, analyse data, and keep operations running smoothly.
• Collaborating closely with other departments to maintain the flow of production.

What they’re looking for:

• Ideally, someone who has some purchasing experience in a Food or FMCG business.
• Excel skills: The ability to work with pivot tables and perform data analysis.
• They need someone who isn’t just following orders but pro-actively making improvements.
