Shift Engineer

Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled)

4 on, 4 off (days and nights, 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)

Let’s deal with the basics:
The shift is 4 on, 4 off, rotating between days and nights. If you hate that pattern, this isn’t the role for you.

Why now? Because the site is busy. Very busy. Covering numerous sites – Over 11 million products roll out every week. That takes more than 670 people to deliver — and the engineering team is what keeps all that kit running.

So yes, there’s a recruitment drive happening. You’ll be joining at a time where reliability and resilience really matter.

The job itself? You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems, help with changeovers, and get involved in improvement projects. You’ll follow H&S, keep proper records, and make sure things are done right — not bodged.

This isn’t an entry-level role. You’ll need:

  • A recognised engineering qualification (apprenticeship ideal)

  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Electrical fault finding skills

  • A flexible, methodical approach with solid communication skills

The Package

  • 24 days’ holiday

  • Pension, insurance, life assurance

  • Employee assistance and wellbeing support

  • Holiday purchase scheme

  • Financial advice, affordable loans, discounted tutoring

  • A bunch of other standard large-employer benefits

If you want an engineering role where the pace is fast, the kit is varied, and you won’t be twiddling your thumbs, this is probably it. If you’d rather coast, best look elsewhere.
