Why You’ll Love This Role: As our Shift Operations Leader, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, guiding a dedicated team to achieve excellence. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement, fostering a strong team spirit, and ensuring we meet our production goals with the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Champion Safety: Lead by example, ensuring a Zero Accident mentality across your team. You’ll enforce Health and Safety procedures, making sure everyone follows the rules and wears the right gear.
  • Drive Production Excellence: Keep us on track with production goals, ensuring we meet our quality, cost, and delivery targets. You’ll manage resources hour by hour to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Lead and Inspire: Develop a motivated, cohesive team that communicates effectively and works together to overcome challenges. You’ll also manage shift handovers and ensure continuity.
  • Innovate and Improve: Use your problem-solving skills to identify areas for improvement and implement lasting solutions. You’ll engage your team in continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with other departments such as planning, sales, accounts, and HR to ensure smooth operations. You’ll attend and present at daily reviews and other key meetings.
  • Develop Your Team: Oversee training, development, and succession planning for your team. You’ll ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong commitment to Health and Safety, with formal management training or a willingness to pursue it.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a background in FMCG (though not essential).
  • Technical aptitude, understands effective use of production machinery & plant
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • HR experience in areas like disciplinary processes and performance management.

  • Strong decision-making abilities using a methodical approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A natural leader who leads by example and motivates others.
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • An analytical mind, numerate with the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
