Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
If you've got to the point of reading this, then you're doing well.
I know how it is at the moment. Audit season is well and truly here, customers are all rushing through the door, staff shortages, supply chain issues....the list goes on.
Maybe you've been able to quickly check your phone in the 2 minute lunch break you currently get.
I know these job titles don't often paint the full picture and can be a completely different role from one business to the next, so I shall try and keep it to the point.
Firstly, you'll need to have an understanding of BRC and retailer codes of practices, as you'll be the one doing internal audits and mock BRC audits to make sure the site is compliant and to maintain that 'audit ready' mentality. You'll be coming in to manage the internal audit programme and taking ownership of that.
As well as that, a large part of the role is to look after the supplier assurance side of life. This includes approving new raw material suppliers, as well as developing the relationships with existing suppliers. Also signing off raw material specs and risk assessments.
Interestingly you'll also be heading off with your manager to conduct supplier food safety audits and approval audits. Learning as you go and slowly being developed to a point of being able to lead your own. Opening up a window of opportunities further down the line.
There are other parts of the role, but I don't want to sit here and list a bullet pointed job description, because that's fun for either you or I.
If you're interested, or you just want to find out more information, pick up the phone and give me (James) a call on 01733 391515.
