My FMCG Client has a permanent career opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven HR Assistant / HR Officer/ HR Advisor to join their small, friendly and supportive HR Team as a HR Advisor.  This is a key role where the successful HR Adviser will be providing an efficient HR service to the site. 

HR Advisor – the role

Reporting into the Head of HR, the successful HR Advisor will have a varied and exciting role where no two days will be the same, supporting the Head of HR on all things HR related;

  • Proactively manage employee relations.  Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Supporting with; recruitment, general employment requests and queries (ie pensions, maternity, Flexible working, parental leave etc), occupational health schedules and referrals
  • Lead engaging, proactive communications across the site
  • Maintaining all manual & electronic personal files, ensuring items are archived as required in line with data protection requirements
  • Maintaining and updating HR policy and procedure documentation
  • Conducting Employee inductions and Exit interviews
  • There will be opportunities to get involved in lots of HR projects i.e. absence management process
  • Coaching and developing the HR Administrator

HR Advisor – required skills, experience & knowledge;

  • Experience of advising managers on disciplinaries and grievances
  • HR experience gained from working in a busy fast paced environment 
  • It is important that the successful HR Advisor is extremely passionate and full of enthusiasm, with a driven and proactive approach with lots of initiative, someone who that will go out of their way to get to know the employees, and have the confidence and strong communication skills to influence and challenge but challenge with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office (especially Excel) and HR systems
  • A self-starter, innovative and highly organised with clear, confident and articulate communication skills
