Social Sustainability Lead

Peterborough / Huntingdon – Hybrid working with international travel.

With great power comes great responsibility and with the growth of the business we are looking for a sustainability lead to work on a global basis in enhancing the social sustainability agenda.

What’s it all about?...

You will lead the global social sustainability agenda for the business, to offer some context of this this will affect the lives of circa 40’000 workers across.

Closely working with ESG & HR Teams within the business to create an integrated way to address & approach business impacts.

Outside of the business you will be in contact with a number of suppliers across various continents, global shareholders, NGO’s to name a few areas.

Our key purpose to be the go-to expert on human rights & social impact for the group, collating information & actioning for a better industry & plant for us all.

A high impact role no doubt!

Key areas of responsibility: -

  • Deliver a refreshed social sustainability strategy and plan (with clear KPIs) across our own operations and supply chain. This includes refreshed human rights policies and new social impact plans for key markets (UK, Netherlands, Kenya, Colombia)
  • Update and embed a refreshed Human Rights policy for suppliers/growers with clear KPIs that are reported against to the Board, to customers, and that align to /go beyond regulatory disclosure requirements
  • Transparent supply chain with strong due diligence across both flowers and non-flowers supply chains
  • Evidence the voice of workers in operations and our supply chains in key decision making
  • Following a human rights risk assessment, have plans in place to collaborate with stakeholders to tackle the top systemic risks - Highly effective collaboration and partnership management.

 

What will you need to be successful here?...

  • Extensive experience in Human Rights / Social Impact Role
  • Demonstrates understanding of regulatory factors – UN SDGs, Modern Slavery, International labour standards etc
  • SEDEX (or similar) platform experience
