Engineering
When your company manufactures products and food or drink items, it comes as no surprise that machinery and equipment becomes a huge part of what you do.
The main aim of the engineering department is to manage and maintain the equipment that the process relies so heavily on. You will need to ensure that you are aware of the risks associated to any machinery breakdown and these issues can be resolved.
As experts in recruitment throughout the food and FMCG industry, here at The Sterling Choice we regularly recruit for engineering roles.. It is our aim to find those people that are looking for engineering jobs and bringing them together with the companies that are aligned to these candidates.
What to expect if you work in engineering
The day to day tasks that you could be expected to undertake if you work within engineering can vary depending on the size of the business that you work in and the type of manufacturing that you carry out.
You will need to be able to recognise areas that processes can be improved and then work towards implementing these changes. The engineering team also need to control levels of stock which could be required for maintenance or for spare parts and communicate fully with the production and planning staff to keep activity up.
Another aim for the engineering team is to make sure that all quality standards are met, and that any risk of downtime or risk to the profitability of the company are managed fully.
There should also be an element of technical knowledge and expertise.
