It’s Our Birthday!

We are so incredibly pleased to be celebrating our 5th birthday. Having founded the business in 2013, Gareth Whyatt and I are extremely proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish.

The last 5 years have been a fantastic journey. It’s been so exciting to grow the team and see the impact we’ve had on people’s lives, both internally and externally.

Gareth adds, “Lukas and I have not had one argument in all the years we’ve been in business. We have a superb relationship. We play to our strengths and complement one another. It is this that’s helped us grow the business to where it is now.”

The Sterling Choice has grown to 12 consultants, and work with some of the largest companies in the world, this is down to three things:

  1. Our employees – We value our staff, they work hard and are rewarded for it. What’s more, to ensure staff can work to their very best, we have a thorough training program that allows each individual to realise their potential and become masters of their craft.
  2. Our clients – We work with some of the smallest and some of the largest companies on the planet. We’re partners in their growth, helping to find the right people to take their business forward – There’s something very rewarding about that!
  3. Our candidates – Candidates are king! We work closely with our candidates to aid their personal growth. We look at the bigger picture and look at the recruitment process differently. We’d rather wait for the right role than pigeon hole someone into one that’s not right for them. It can sometimes take longer, but worth it in the long run when both the client and candidate are happy and have a long working relationship.

We’re proud to be different

What makes us different? We will challenge a client’s brief to really understand who it is they want and need to ensure they advertise for the right person. It’s all about honesty. Essentially, we’re their growth partner.

Further to this, we spend time with our clients and our candidates to understand the whole picture and remain in communication with everyone throughout the entire process. We only then match people up with the right role at the right time.

Our integrity is integral

The Sterling Choice is all about “keeping it real”.  In another 5 years, where do I see us… Well, I’d like to continue growing at the rate we have been. I want to keep our integrity intact. I don’t want to grow aggressively and have to make shortcuts. That’s not who we are. We want to stay true to our values of happiness, being humble, hard work and our community.

It’d be great if in 5 years we have begun to enter new markets and locations. We’d like to move into North America in the construction, packaging, pharmaceutical and automotive industries. It’s on the horizon, but we’re patient.

The Sterling Choice take the time to guide and advise candidates. With work and careers taking up to a 1/3 of everyone’s life, having the right role in the right company can have such an impact, which makes recruitment one of the most rewarding industries to be in.

To mark our 5th birthday, we brought together, staff, friends and family to celebrate- We couldn’t have gotten to where we are without them.
