Overview

A major food manufacturer are looking to add to their successful engineering team by hiring an Automation Engineer. In this role, you will be part of a modern and expanding site in a key role for the team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be a part of a team of engineers managing the automation function across projects and maintenance. Working with the maintenance, production and operations team, you will be a key player in ensuring the factory is running up to speed and production levels are maintained. 

Responsibilities for the Automation Engineer

• Managing and overseeing the work as part of a team of automation engineers
• Maintaining existing controls systems on site
• Managing project work and upgrades to controls systems
• Working on PLC systems (programming and fault finding)
• Working with the wider engineering teams to ensure overall engineering targets are being met and achieved

Requirements for the Automation Engineer

• Time-served / recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a relevant electrical engineering subject
• Experience working in an automation engineering position
• Experience working with major brands of PLCs and SCADA
• Food / FMCG or manufacturing experience
